Surfing on Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica
Tamarindo has all the facilities and services of Costa Rican beach town like surf, sand, and sun. Tamarindo is the ideal place for weddings, honeymoons, families, and for those wonderfully suited eco-adventurers. Tamarindo offers first class sports like Tamarindo surfing, sailing, fishing, diving, turtle watching, canopy tours, horseback riding, beauty spa, golfing, and ATV tours. The sun shines about 365 days per year, and the temperature of the place is pleasantly warm from year round. May through October is their rainy season wherein you can expect a brief shower in the late afternoon, making the beach sparkle and allowing for the extraordinary sunsets. The beach is a three and a half kilometers of warm blue water and white sand. Tamarindo is surrounded by the National Parks and mountains with its breathtaking views to its east. Nature is very abundant to the place.

Surfing and Sunsets at Playa Tamarindo
I caught a wave! Actually it was 4 or 5 waves and even stood up on my second try! Surfing at Playa Tamarindo was awesome. The waves are perfect for beginnings and Reuben, my instructor from Iguana Surf School, was great. I did get worked once by a wave and the surfboard smacked me in the face but thankfully only have a few scrapes and bruises and a little sunburn from the day. The rest of the day was spent wandering the beach, hanging at the pool and enjoying the sunset. You gotta love Costa Rica!

The prior decades of relative inaccessibility to tourists, have left them with an unspoiled character and few regular visitors. They are waiting for you to discover them for yourself.

Costa Rica Spanish and Surfing
Article by Brock Higdon
I started taking Spanish classes in Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica in August of 2006. I had taken a vacation to Costa Rica in 2005 and had spent a few days relaxing on the beach in Tamarindo, so when I decided to learn Spanish in Costa Rica I thought Tamarindo would be a great place to start. It is located on the Pacific coast, in the province of Guanacaste. I knew it was famous as a surfing town and a destination for sun worshipers from all over the world.
