Tamarindo Weather Averages in February

When talking about the weather in Tamarindo, heat and sunshine are likely to be the two words you here most often.

Located just nine degrees above the equator in a dry, tropical forest and with its own microclimate, there is very little variation in the scorching hot weather that is seen throughout the year.

The only seasonal change that does occur is between the wet and dry season. In the wet season, showers can fall in the evenings in Tamarindo but, as this is one of the driest parts of Costa Rica, they're unlikely to cause much disruption to your day.

If you want to be guaranteed a completely rain free holiday though, the dry season (between November and April) is the time to go, when you can also expect lower levels of humidity also.

As a winter sun destination, Tamarindo more than delivers.

The temperature during this month is 28°C (82°F), reaching highs of 32°C (90°F) and dropping to lows of 23°C (73°F).

The average amount of rainfall is 2 mm over 4 days.

February is in the middle of the turtle nesting season in Tamarindo, when the female leatherback turtles arrive in Tamarindo to lay their eggs. Turtle watching is thus an excellent activity in Tamarindo and a unique opportunity to see this natural phenomenon. The turtles arrive between November and April to begin the nesting process then, a few weeks later, the hatched newborns race to the sea to avoid predators. Not all of them make it. re are on average 7 hours of sunshine every day.
